The past few weeks have been somewhat frustrating for me, with not one but 2 annoying little injuries. One affecting my knee and one affecting my elbow which has made any kind of heavy training difficult, if not impossible. If you have had the pleasure of seeing me in person this week, then you will have certainly heard me mention it. 😂
My current goal is to build as much muscle and strength as I can over the next few months and these injuries certainly put a temporary hold on that.
When obstacles appear in your path you have 2 options.
Give up on your goals all together
or
Find away round that obstacle.
Life will always have a way of throwing you a curve ball, but don’t let that stop you from reaching your goal albeit by a different route.
It may mean it’ll take a bit longer to get there. It my mean you have to make temporary sacrifices or take a step back in order to move forward.
Progress is never linear, it’s more of a squiggly line with the ups and downs that life can, and will, throw at you.
But if that goal is important to you, then find another way, but don’t just throw in the towel and give up.
So for this week I will not be training…at all. This will allow my body time to heal. Now while this is not what I WANT to be doing (and will likely drive me insane) its what I NEED to be doing to still make progress towards that end goal in the long run.
Hopefully, the rest will allow me to come back stronger and get stuck in to hitting those 2019 goals. 💪🏻💪🏻
